2010 Preparing Korean Holiday ‘Jeongwol Daeboreum’ (The First Full Moon Day)
This Sunday is Korean Holiday called ‘Jeongwol Daeboreum.’ (정월대보름)
Why this Sundday is the first full moon day od this year?
In the lunar calendar, this Sunday (28th Feb, 2010) is 15th Jan, 2010.
Because Korean have some holidays based on the lunar calendar!
We celebrate lots of traditional things at ‘Jeongwol Daeboreum.’
One familiar custom is to crack nuts with one's teeth (This is called Bureom, 부럼).
It is believed that this practice will help keep one's teeth healthy and ward off boils for the year.
(If nuts are too hard, you can use a hammer to crack that.)
So I prepared lots of these bags for my friends!
In the countryside, people climb mountains, braving cold weather, trying to catch the first rise of the moon.
It is said that the first person to see the moon rise will have good luck all year.
I Attached information of ‘Jeongwol Daeboreum’ below.
I like enjoy good things together!
Becuase I like to do make people happy!
